David Beach started playing piano at the age of 11 years old but found himself drawn to the guitar at age 14. He studied classical, jazz, and rock guitar from a number of San Francisco bay area musicians. David eventually moved to southern California playing in a multitude of bands originating from the Hollywood area all the way to the Inland Empire. After nine years of playing the circuits, David found his way back to keyboards by way of Midi sequencers. Inspired by the technology, he and another Hollywood drummer synchronized two computers that ran a rack of keyboard modules for their live performances. The band was aptly named "Control". "We spent so many hours behind the computer screen that we almost forgot how to play." After the demise of "Control", David jumped on an opportunity to play in a blues band called the "Hurricanes." "All we played were covers, but I didn't care. I was so happy to be playing and not programming." From there David took some time off to devote to his family. Returning, some years later, the guitar was set aside and the keyboard once again dominates his life.
